The Ruptured Budgie Rally 2008

Its on again, Friday 16th to Sunday 18th May, so crank up the bike and get yourself down or up or across to "Bikers Island" Mingoola for a bit of fun.

This is a  traditional rally modernised by drop dunnies. But - you can still have a beer, a bundy, a red or just plain water. Ya can even pitch ya tent, listen to some music and have a chat around a bonfire without too much hassle.

Be warned -  its probably going to be cold and possibly wet, and if the drought really breaks there might even be a bit more than a puddle crossing to the island. So come prepared with ya tent, sleeping bag, snorkel and flippers.

Getting There

Unless someone has changed things you will find us on "Bikers Island" Mingoola! How to get there? Click on the maps below. Otherwise, its about 40kms from Tenterfield near the Glen Lions Dam. We will be putting out some signs, but no guarantee they won't get pinched.

What's On

The general stuff:

• Young folk 15 and under get in free if no badge required. For the rest of us its 20 bucks.

• Plenty of campin' available along the creek. Swimmin' not recommended

• Firewood provided until it runs out

• Dunnies provided for the odd #2

• Stumps out the back for the odd #1

The catered stuff:

• tucker provided for brekkies, lunches and teas from Friday arvo to Sunday morning. Menu as yet not known

• bar with mixers, beers, and coolies

• regalia for those that need a t-shirt, cap or some other bits and pieces

The fun stuff:

• Competitions n events to win u beaut trophies (ya got ta nominate for some of the events - ask @ the gate or the booze tent when u get there)

• don't bring ya attitude, cos we just wanna relax

• don't bring ya cars (especially those full of booze), they crush the grass and send us broke

• don't bring ya dogs or cats, they chase the possums and keep us awake

• don't bring ya glass, it cuts ya feet when racin' to the dunny for a #2
